Jordan Ryan picks up FAST Friday win at Limaland

Lima, OH
7/14/17

After a month of rain-outs, Limaland Motorsports Park finally beat Mother Nature with a full FAST Friday night presented by Homeland Technology Group. The JLH General Contractors FAST 305 series invaded the high banks of Limaland, with No.11x-Jordan Ryan picking up the win. In the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, it was No.17T-Mikey Tarlton grabbing his first career feature win, and the Bud Thunderstock feature was won by No.11D-Bob Daugherty.

Kicking off the night were the Bud Thunderstocks in the McDonalds Dash for Cash, sponsored by the Lewis Family McDonalds restaurants. No.99-Andy King would win the $100 to win dash, and hood plaque.

In feature action the JLH General Contractors FAST 305 Sprints would start the evening, and it would take 3 tries to get the feature started with red flags marring the initial tries at the start for No.14-Luke Daugherty and No.2L-Landon LaLonde, and the 2nd red for No.1-Nate Dussel, and No.19R-Steve Rando. All drivers would be ok, and the feature would finally get rolling. No.11G-Caleb Griffith and No. 2 Ricky Peterson would lead the field to the green and trade the lead back and forth for several laps, with No.77i-John Ivy beginning his march from the 10th position. With laps winding down, Griffith would cut a right rear tire and head to the infield ending his race. As the leaders got into heavy lapped traffic, it allowed Ivy to make his move on the leaders and head to the point, however, the No.77i would fail post race tech inspection, handing the win to No.11x Jordan Ryan, over No.1w-Paul Weaver, No.12 Kyle Capodice, No.2-Peterson, and No.4-Tyler Street. Heat races were won by No.4Tyler Street, No.2-Peterson, and No.1-Nate Dussel.

Next up were the K&N Filters UMP Modified in their 20 lap A Main. The opening laps saw No.17T-Mikey Tarlton and No.34x-Andy Bibler lead the field to green. Bibler would grab the point, but No.95-Jerry Bowersock would take the lead on lap 2. The racing up front stayed close between the top 5 until Tarlton made his charge on lap 6 to grab 2nd, then to the lead on lap 8 utilizing the high side of the racetrack. Tarlton checked out on the field to grab his first career feature win over No.22T-Tony Anderson, No.95J-Bowersock, No.65-Todd Sherman, and Bibler. Heat races were won by Anderson, No.T5X-Bub Roberts, and Sherman.

Closing out the night were the Budweiser Thunderstocks in their 15 lap feature event. No.89-Keith Shockency and No.26-Justin Long brought the field to green with Long getting to the front first. No.11D-Bob Daugherty would power to 2nd briefly before No.82 Chris Douglas grabbed the 2nd spot on lap 3. Daugherty would get back by Douglas on lap 6, and begin stalking Long for the lead. Cautions on laps 7 and 8 would keep the field bunched up, but Long was able to hold the point on each restart. Daugherty made a move to the inside for the lead in turns 3 and 4 coming to the white flag, and Long would get loose, allowing Daugherty to get away and pick up the win. Long would hold on for 2nd with No. 22T Tony Anderson coming 3rd after battling with No.82-Chris Douglas from lap 6 to the finish. Douglas would be 4th and No.7c-Jordan Conover would complete the top 5. Heat races were won by No.82-Chris Douglas, No.11D-Bob Daugherty, and No.26-Justin Long.

Limaland Motorsports Park is back in action next Friday, July 21st when the University of Northwestern Ohio presents the "UNOH 20th Anniversary Race". Come celebrate 20 years of racing at Limaland under the banner of UNOH as the Non Wing Sprints take to the 1/4 mile bullring, along with the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, and the Budweiser Thunderstocks.
